Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation
Understanding the Luxury in Vinyl
What is Luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) or most commonly known as luxury vinyl plank (LVP)? It’s a crafted similitude to natural hardwood and stone. The luxury in LVP is not merely its aesthetic appeal—it’s in the meticulous engineering and design process that ensures it simulates the texture, color, and pattern of natural materials. But luxury vinyl plank flooring does more; it exceeds the performance of natural options, offering resilience, versatility, and ease of maintenance.
Types of Vinyl – A Spectrum of Solutions
Atlanta Floor One presents a spectrum of vinyl flooring. Our collections cater to the diverse tastes and needs of homeowners. From our Mountain series, which combines rugged durability with sophistication, to the Premium collection, which boasts unrivaled style and performance, you can choose from an array of options:
The Core Benefits of

Luxury vinyl plank flooring is a canvas of benefits that extends to every corner of your home. At Atlanta Floor One, we believe that every homeowner deserves the best, and that’s why we stand by our LVP installation as the premier flooring choice.
1. Durability That Defies Expectations

2. Ease-of-Installation for Effortless Elegance
One of the most significant advantages of vinyl plank flooring is its ease of installation. It can be installed over any existing hard surface, with options for glue-down or click-lock methods, depending on your preference and the requirements of your space.
3. Versatility as Captivating as the Collection
Luxury vinyl plank flooring isn’t just for traditional living spaces. Its resilience to moisture and ease of maintenance make it perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation: Frequently Asked Questions
What does an LVF install service include?
Our luxury vinyl flooring install service covers the whole job, not just the plank: measuring and material takeoff, removing and disposing of the old flooring, checking the subfloor for moisture and flatness and correcting it where needed, acclimating the material, laying the planks or tiles with the right expansion gap, and finishing with transitions, thresholds, and baseboard or quarter round. We clean up and haul off the debris when we are done. If the subfloor turns out to need more work than the walkthrough suggested, we show you the problem before we proceed rather than tiling over it.
What is the difference between luxury vinyl flooring and laminate?
The core is the difference. Laminate is built on a wood-fiber board that swells permanently once water gets into it, which is why it is a poor choice for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements. Luxury vinyl flooring has a plastic core that does not absorb water, so a spill or an appliance leak is a cleanup rather than a replacement. Luxury vinyl is also quieter and softer underfoot, while laminate tends to be harder and more prone to a hollow sound. Both print a wood or stone image on the surface; the modern luxury vinyl embossing is generally more convincing at close range.
How long does luxury vinyl flooring installation take?
Most single rooms are a one-day job once the material is on site and acclimated. A typical main floor of 800 to 1,200 square feet usually runs two to three days, including tearing out the old flooring and prepping the subfloor. What stretches the schedule is almost always what is underneath: an uneven slab that needs leveling compound, or old adhesive and tile that has to come up first. Unlike hardwood, there is no sanding or finishing stage, so you can walk on luxury vinyl the same day it is laid.
Can luxury vinyl plank be installed over an existing floor?
Sometimes. Luxury vinyl can go over a sound, flat, well-bonded surface such as concrete, plywood, or existing ceramic tile, provided grout lines are filled and the whole floor is flat within the manufacturer’s tolerance. It should not go over carpet, cushioned vinyl, or anything soft or loose, because the give underneath will work the locking joints apart over time. Going over existing tile also raises the finished floor height, which affects door clearance and transitions into adjoining rooms. We check flatness and moisture first and tell you which approach the specific floor will support.
Is luxury vinyl flooring actually waterproof?
The plank itself is waterproof — standing water will not swell or ruin it the way it ruins laminate or hardwood. The floor as a system is water resistant rather than sealed: on a click-together floating installation, water can still find its way down through the seams to the subfloor if it is left to sit. So it is an excellent choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements, but a leak should still be dried up rather than ignored. For a genuinely sealed wet area like a shower, tile with a waterproof membrane is still the right build.
How much does luxury vinyl flooring installation cost?
Cost comes down to the square footage, the grade of material you choose, and the condition of what is underneath. Thicker planks with a heavier wear layer and attached underlayment cost more per square foot but hold up far better in busy households and rental properties. Subfloor work is the variable that moves an estimate the most — a flat, clean slab installs quickly, while leveling, moisture mitigation, or removing glued-down tile adds labor. Removal and disposal of the old floor, transitions, and new baseboard also factor in. Final price depends on your project; we measure, look at the subfloor, and give you a written quote with no obligation. Request an estimate to get started.
